Who qualifies for
free coaching?
Many international professionals living in Germany — including those from India, the US, and non-EU countries — are eligible for the AVGS voucher. Here's what you need to know.
The AVGS (Aktivierungs- und Vermittlungsgutschein) is a government-funded voucher that covers the full cost of job coaching. To receive it, you generally need to meet the following criteria:

Registered with Jobcenter or Arbeitsagentur
You must be officially registered as unemployed (arbeitslos) or at risk of unemployment (arbeitsuchend) in Germany. -
Legal right to work in Germany
This includes EU citizens, holders of residence permits with work authorization, and third-country nationals (e.g. from India, Pakistan, the US) with a valid work permit. -
Registered for at least 6 weeks (in some cases)
The Jobcenter may require a minimum registration period before issuing the AVGS voucher — typically 6 weeks for Arbeitsagentur clients. -
Approved by your case worker
Your Jobcenter or Arbeitsagentur advisor must approve and issue the AVGS voucher. We can help you prepare for this conversation.
